I am pleased to inform you that UNLV will receive additional federal funding to help students who are negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. These latest awards are a part of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) and are in addition to funding previously awarded. The funds are intended to offset COVID-19 impacts, including tuition, housing, books, supplies, and fees, among other costs.
Please complete the following actions as soon as possible to assist the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in assessing your eligibility and distributing awards if you are eligible:
- Update your mailing address and direct deposit information in MyUNLV as soon as possible so that this information is current.
- You are encouraged to file a 2021 and 2022 FAFSA if you have not yet done so, and complete the verification process.
- If you are ineligible to complete a FAFSA, you are encouraged to submit an Alternate Need Form in the Self-Service Help Center.
All of these updates and submissions can be made online.
We realize many of you have pressing financial needs. We are in the process of developing the process for assessing eligibility and distributing available funds quickly.
The next steps will be detailed in a future email with additional information and directions on who to contact. My request is that you please be patient – we are unable to answer individual student questions at this time.
